"I don't remember the academic stuff my mum taught me when I was young, but I remember the stories that my late dad told me when I was young," I said to my wife during a "heated discussion". :)
And it set me thinking...
I want to record down all the tales from my past/childhood, or all the stories I've heard from my dad, my mum or whoever, and let my kids keep them so that one day, they may be able to tell these tales to their kids as their bedtime stories (like I'm doing now sometimes).
Most of these stories will probably come across as mundane or even boring to anyone else other than myself, but these are memories that I cherish and would want to preserve for my offspring and theirs.
But hey, these are after all "Tales for my Kids", not "Tales for Kids"! :)
